Annual Frostbite Regatta 2011

The 2011 Frostbite Regatta sailed in the Del Mar Boat Basin on 3 December was a slow but fun Regatta. The wind was none existent, even less then the OORAH! Regatta. 3 Capri 16.5s and one Nomad competed. 3 Races were held and then a break for lunch with hot Pizzas, spicy Hot Wings, Hot Garlic off the Grill, salad and as always, Marybeth’s cookies.

After lunch 4 more races in a little better breeze, but still not enough to go E mark. The fun part was the light air tactics being used and the 16.5s trying to make sure the Bud in his Nomad would not pass them, which he did a fairly good job of doing. It was mostly in the starts, but some great mark rounding's were observed.

All participants were members of the Santa Margarita Yacht Club of Camp Pendleton.
