What the Duty Officer does.....
The duty officers are very important to the club. They provide a welcome to
people around the marina and information about our club, which leads many times
to new membership.
As duty officer of the day you are responsible for opening up the clubhouse
(10:00am) you should be able to get the key from the marina office.
The Watch Captain will hoist the club burgees and U.S flag up on flagpole, the
duty watch notebook shows flag positions. You will also keep a record on a DO
sheet in the notebook telling what transpires during your day.
If you have free time you can help keep the clubhouse tidy and clean.
At closing time (3:00pm) you fold all flags and store and put everything in
clubhouse and lock the door.
Remember it is important that you are social with any visitors and help with any
information that is requested.
